This course is designed for general dentists looking to elevate their surgical practice by deepening their understanding of exodontia and patient care timelines. Participants will explore the essentials of fundamental exodontia, focusing on techniques that support patient comfort and successful outcomes. Attendees will gain insights into developing clear, written timelines to set patient expectations, optimize scheduling, and honor necessary healing times. The course will culminate in an introduction to basic but essential steps to transition patients from the discomfort of floating dentures to the stability and satisfaction of mandibular overdentures.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand and Apply the Fundamentals of Exodontia: Grasp the essential techniques
in exodontia that support atraumatic extractions, respect for surrounding structures, and
overall patient safety. - Develop Patient-Centered Timelines: Create comprehensive timelines for each surgical
case to aid in setting realistic patient expectations, ensure accurate scheduling, and
adhere to appropriate healing periods. - Apply Mandibular Denture Stabilization Concepts to their practice. The more prepared
the entire team is, the better the clinician is able to deliver quality care to their patients.
Confident teams have the opportunity to provide patients with an improved denture
experience when stabilizing their denture for appropriate candidates, ultimately
enhancing functionality, comfort, and patient satisfaction.
This course is intended to bridge the gap between general and surgical dental practices, empowering general dentists to deliver improved patient outcomes through essential surgical knowledge and patient management techniques.
