UOR 2014 Dental hygienists are trained to collect all the data needed to diagnose the condition of periodontitis. However, recent reviews have found variation in terminology throughout the literature. In addition, there are discrepancies between medical diagnosis codes and dental procedure codes. This presentation narrows down the issues that are relevant to everyday practice and what you need to know when you collect data and record a dental hygiene diagnosis. The program provides an essential understanding of diagnosis through classification systems and identifies guidelines for the treatment of periodontitis and disease classification in dentistry.
