New products, new technologies and yes even new protocols can save your dental practice time and money while ensuring patient and employee safety. Emerging diseases, complex dental technology equipment, medically compromised patients and infection prevention breaches have prompted CDC to publish the new Summary of Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings: Basic Expectations for Safe Care. Jackie reviews the CDC Summary and provides recommendations for products and techniques to help you Tune-Up infection prevention and meet the current Standard of Care. Attendees will learn how to test and validate instrument cleaning, sterilization and infection prevention to meet state dental board’s “Standard of Care” for infection prevention. Validation and recordkeeping of the cleaning and sterilization processes are recommended by CDC and required by state dental practice law. Complex dental technology equipment requires following manufacturer’s IFUs on cleaning and sterilization to ensure sterility for each reprocessing cycle. Attendees will review IFUs for technology equipment and develop the correct reprocessing steps for the technology equipment. With the seminar resources, dental hygienists can ensure instrument sterilization and infection prevention protocols meet CDC standards and the current state dental practice laws.
