DE Study Club Webcast March 15, 2017 Radiology is one field in dentistry that we as practitioners engage in everyday. It is a standard part of diagnostic procedures and is necessary for evaluation prior to almost anything we do including but not limited to periodontics, restorative, endodontics, and surgery. This webinar will review the didactic understanding of radiographs, such as radiation physics, characteristics, and biology; the latter being how x rays interact with patients. It will discuss talking to patients about the safety of radiographs and to communicate why they are a necessary part of our profession. We will look at different modalities in digital radiography with respect to their benefits, limitations, and ROI. Lastly, clinical complications such as technical errors, overcoming difficulties with gagging patients, and other common problems will be addressed.
