RDH UOR 2013 Malocclusion is a disease that is both highly prevalent and under diagnosed. This course will introduce how the hygienist’s role is pivotal in identifying malocclusion and the importance of discussing the benefits of adult orthodontic treatment to reduce the risk of occlusal trauma/wear, abfractions, incipient decay and periodontal disease. Recent science based technology regarding tooth movement in addition to strategies for implementing aligner therapy into the general practitioner’s office will be discussed as well as when to refer to proper specialists for the utmost in patient care.
