Between two and three million nonmelanoma skin cancers and 132,000 melanoma skin cancers occur globally each year. The goal with oral and skin cancer screening is to identify cancer early, when there is a greater chance for a cure. Clinicians will be able to teach patients the reasons why they suffer from radiation-induced xerostomia, the intraoral problems associated with it, and some of the management options available to make patients more comfortable in managing their symptoms.
