This course introduces motivational interviewing as a patient-centered communication approach to support positive oral health behaviors. Participants will learn to build rapport, recognize “change talk” and “sustain talk,” and apply OARS skills—open-ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening, and summarizing. Through interactive exercises and real-world examples, dental professionals will develop strategies to enhance patient motivation and promote lasting change.
