UOR 2014 The hygiene department in any practice should be the force moving the rest of the practice forward. It has been calculated that approximately 60% of the productivity in the doctor’s treatment room comes from the hygiene room. Calculating how to keep the hygiene department running smoothly and efficiently will ensure the practice a healthy, long life. Being an active advocate of hygiene services builds value for the hygienist’s role and prominence in any practice. The hygiene team includes everyone on the team, business managers, clinical assistants, and dentists. Retaining a minimum of 85% of patients in a practice on a continuing care basis is a goal that will keep a practice healthy. This course focuses on the business aspects of clinical hygiene to achieve that goal.
