This webinar, Demystifying Dental Sleep Medicine, will provide an introduction to Sleep Apnea and Sleep Disordered Breathing. In this webinar, we will define the etiology and co-morbidities of Sleep Apnea demonstrating the scope and spread of the disease. We will explore the role of the dentist in screening patients for this disease, explain the role CBCT may have as a diagnostic tool for sleep disorders, and explain the potential dental treatments of sleep apnea and sleep disordered breathing. We will also touch on the business model for dentists’ involvement in treatment.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this CE activity attendee will be able to:

  1. Understand the health risk factors for Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Sleep Disordered Breathing
  2. Identify the clinical signs that present the highest risk for OSA in patients
  3. Know how to refer patients for appropriate diagnosis of OSA
  4. Understand the next steps necessary for implementing a Sleep Medicine program in your practice

Ben Waldman
Senior Lecturer on Dental Sleep Medicine

Ben Waldman has been serving the dental industry for 20 years as a digital imaging specialist, working at Schick Technologies, DEXIS LLC and most recently for i-CAT. During that time he has been a frequent lecturer on topics such as: Digital Dentistry, Paperless Efficiency, Cone Beam Volumetrics and currently serves as the Senior Lecturer for i-CAT on Sleep and Airways

A consummate student of business systems, communications and marketing, Dr. Bowman is dedicated to helping dentists from the US and internationally to achieve the highest levels of success and profitability in their practices. In 2005 he founded Dental Insiders, which provides coaching, consulting, and training programs for dentists and dental team members.

Prior to his career in the dental industry, Mr. Waldman served as the Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Liaison during the Reagan Administration and as an outside advisor to President George H.W. Bush.  He has four grown children and lives in Virginia with his wife Rebecca.

Requirements For Successful Completion

To receive credit for your participation in this webinar you will be required to complete the online program examination. To complete the online examination participants must be registered and signed-in to this website and have reviewed the program in its entirety. At the end of the program a link will be provided directing you to the program course exam. Once completed and submitted an immediate grade report will be displayed. All participants scoring at least 70% on the examination will receive a CE Verification Form verifying 1 CE credits. Verification forms may be viewed and printed immediately as well as accessed anytime in the future (24/7) from within the user records page of this website.

Not enough time to complete your online examination? No problem, online examinations may be completed anytime during the effective period of the program. Participants requiring more time to complete an examination may return to this website, sign-in and complete the online examination.
