This webinar is designed to assist hygienists in evaluating the multitude of desensitizing agents available for home use and in-office application. Causes of dentin hypersensitivity will be discussed, as well as the criteria for product selection, based on individual patient needs. The webinar will include protocols for evaluating patients, developing treatment strategies and assessing which type of desensitizer would provide optimal results for the patient.

Target Audience

The target audience for this course is Dental Hygienists and Dental Assistants from novice to advanced professionals.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this CE activity attendee will be able to:

  1. Identify various causes of dentin hypersensitivity.
  2. Develop a protocol for screening patients for dentin hypersensitivity that will be the basis for treatment planning.
  3. Evaluate currently available desensitizers and their intended application.
  4. Determine which treatment would be most appropriate for their patients.

Requirements For Successful Completion

To receive credit for your participation in this webinar you will be required to complete the online program examination. To complete the online examination participants must be registered and signed-in to this website and have reviewed the program in its entirety. At the end of the program a link will be provided directing you to the program course exam. Once completed and submitted an immediate grade report will be displayed. All participants scoring at least 70% on the examination will receive a CE Verification Form verifying 1 CE credits. Verification forms may be viewed and printed immediately as well as accessed anytime in the future (24/7) from within the user records page of this website.
